The term "private boarding school" is often used to describe a program or school where a parent sends a troubled teen. These private boarding schools are sometimes referred to as specialty boarding schools and range from 3-6 month periods or longer. Some specialty boarding schools (those listed on our site) provide the necessary tools for permanent change such as structure for troubled teens, seminars, and follow up.
